Hello my dear readers! Today, this is a special installment of this publication, dedicated to honoring the superbly creative genius that is my youngest son, Alex. You see, Alex views the world as his canvas. His art project is his entire reality. Never before have I known anyone who so embodies the spirit of creating the world you want to live in more than Alex. His creative spirit knows no boundaries and cannot be contained. I am constantly humbled by his growing artistic talents and his unique neurodivergent eyes that find beauty and happiness in everyday ordinary things that most people do not. Alongside his prodigious output of drawn and sculpted art, he lives for repurposing toys, magazines, bits of metal and plastic and various assorted every day items into his own special style of expression. He takes what others discard and gives it new life and purpose, breathing into it his own special brand of insight and even humor. What started out as me allotting him his own personal designated part of the house to decorate has grown to become an entire inside of the house art project that encompasses the majority of our living room area and hallway walls. Sure, it's chaotic, and for some, it might be a bit too much. Not for me though. I have had a whole lifetime of being perceived as too much, recoiling and denying that fact out of a sense of shame, a dedication to the ideals of trying to be what others find to be “normal”. But after watching Alex find himself through his art and witnessing his self confidence and happiness bloom and mature and evolve into something fiercer and finer and something to be rightfully proud of, it occurs to me that maybe being too much is just what the world really needs right now. In fact, given the choice between too much and not enough, I know the choice I'll make every single time. That being said, please enjoy this Chez PNWCats gallery art exhibit, courtesy of Alex. Much love to you all, and please whatever you do, find something that brings you the same joy that this brings my beautiful son. When reasons to smile are hard to find, create your own. Much love you you all. Be safe and take care of others. Bring your smiles to their world as well.
Thank you for reading and enjoying this lovely compilation of art! Hold your loved ones and yourself tightly, my friends. This post is meant to serve as a timely reminder that no matter how dark the times might be, there is light if you are only willing to open your eyes and your heart to see it. Create your own universe and paint it with the colors and textures that bring you joy. My friends, no matter what the future may hold for all of us, I will continue to treasure the time that I have with each and every one of you today.

I LOVE ARTISTIC HUMANS!! Sorry for shouting. I have zero drawing ability. My Mom did. My children do! 🤬🤣 stoopid genes! Artistes do look at life in a divergent view. Normative is so Boring.

“too much”…or maximalist artist?
“Maximalism is characterized by its celebration of individuality, creativity, and self-expression. Unlike minimalism, which focuses on simplicity and restraint, maximalism embraces vibrant colors, eclectic patterns, and layered textures to create drama, energy, and visual impact”
